Greetings all,

It has been a busy week.  I interviewed several consignment store owners… really helpful and inspirational.  Looked a several more locations and had the chance to share some of the locations with one the artists in the RooTs community, Kim.  It was great to be able to share the excitement and challenges of selecting a site.   She provided some great insight – [thank you KIM!].

We are getting closer …

Location 1: Super cute location in San Anselmo (reference images from past blogs).  Great space for retail, classes and monthly gallery openings. 900+ sq feet.  Concerns:  Will we get enough foot traffic?  Floods (we’ll have flood insurance).   Rent is on the high side… more risk with slower foot traffic compared to Mill Valley.

Location 2: Mill Valley – new build-out in the heart of Mill Valley.  Remember Strawbridge’s next to Peet’s.  Sadly they are closing and the space is being built out into three spaces.  The middle space is available.  Great location.  Great foot traffic. Concerns:  space is very small.  400 to be exact. and no storage.  ekk.  no space for classes.

I’ve ruled out several other locations in Mill Valley, Petaluma and San Anselmo.  If we’re going to do this… it has to be right.  We are a group of wonderfully talented artists and need to have a great space to sell our goods.
